Our Story

After 20+ years in the medical field, I decided to venture into the pet industry world due to my love for these fur babies. As a pet mom of two dogs, Toby and Charlie, and a cat, Sunday, I decided to embark on this new field. In honor and love for my fur baby Toby, who is handicapped. I decided no one else could provide grooming services with the same love and care as I do. Toby is my miracle baby, who was diagnosed with a genetic disorder during COVID on October 18, 2020. Toby was hospitalized and had a team of surgeons who would later tell me his case was rare, but he had a chance at making it, being he was only 3 years old.

Dog grooming is strongly associated solely with improving the appearance of a dog. But did you know of all the other benefits? Not only does getting your dog groomed make them look and smell amazing, but it can also help with their overall well-being and health. Here are a few of the top benefits of regular dog grooming.

Of course one of the most obvious benefits of getting your dog groomed are the hygiene benefits. Cleaning and brushing away all that dead skin and buildup can do wonders to your dog’s hygiene and smell. A stinky dog is enough to make any dog owner grumble, so why not take them to the groomer for a bit of a freshen up? Your nose will thank you!

Fleas are unfortunately an inevitability that comes with owning a dog. A benefit of going to a groomer is they will be able to check for fleas and their eggs. Regular washing, brushing, and clipping of fur will help in ceasing the growth of fleas. For a small fee, your groomer may even have some flea treatment to aid in getting rid of those blood-suckers for good!

If you start going to a groomer regularly, they’ll become familiar with your dog and if there are any abnormalities. These could include bumps and lumps that you’ve perhaps missed during a brushing session. Detecting these issues early on is key in stopping the spread of any serious condition.

Getting rid of the gunk and buildup in your dog’s ears is important in preventing any ear infections. As well as this, your groomer will be able to trim any of the lengthier parts of hair which could be causing further issues. Ear infections are one of the leading causes of dog deafness, so getting their ears checked regularly will help to maintain their hearing for many years to come.

Trimming your dog’s nails is often overlooked but is an essential part of your dog’s wellbeing. Nails that grow too long can be uncomfortable for your dog to walk on. They may change their posture to better accommodate longer nails. This can create larger problems if left untreated. Arthritis, bone deformations and bad posture are just some of the ailments that can occur from leaving your dog’s nails long. Pro tip – if when standing their nails are touching the ground, it’s a sign they need to get them trimmed.

Regardless of your dog’s breed or hair length, taking your dog to the groomer to get washed and brushed will help with the condition and quality of their coat. Just brushing alone helps to remove dead skin, dirt and anything else lurking. It also helps to spread the natural oils over their coat, making it appear shinier and healthier.

If your dog has medium-long fur, it is highly likely that they will develop matts. Matts occur when the fur becomes bunched and entwined. Left untreated these matts can grow large and pull aggressively on the skin. If these are in sensitive areas or are tight, they can give your dog a lot of discomfort. Regular brushing and grooming eliminate the chances of matts developing. In some cases, your groomer may have to trim the matts out.

At Toby’s Pet Services it is important to have top of the line supplies for different types of coats. We strive to accommodate all our fur babies depending on their needs from sensitive skin, hypoallergenic to oatmeal-based shampoo to help treat more complex skin disorders.

Our vans are equipped with 55-gallon water tank and water heater with an adjustable thermostat & drain system in place for the comfort of your fur baby during their bath.

A 10–15 min massage is done on your fur baby during their bath to make sure we are covering your dog’s coat thoroughly.

We use a customized shampoo system with a dosed quantity for improved optimization to prevent waste.

Rinsing your pet is done with patience and careful consideration to remove all traces of shampoo. Our organically grown aloe vera conditioner is applied for extra remoisturizing to lock the moisture in their coat.

We use K-9 High Velocity 2 Motor Dryer for a 2-speed drying from heavy to lightweight drying for the pet’s comfort.

Our suites are furnished with TV, a private sleep area with a comfy bed, toys, water, and food bowls provided, and a spacious backyard. We only ask you to bring your fur baby's food. All dogs must be up to date on their vaccines. Due to your fur baby being around Toby, we require a 2-hour interview to take place before your booking.

This interview is necessary to determine participation in our open-concept daycare, woof camp, and overnight stay. Toby’s Boarding Program is designed to provide a loving and feel-at-home program where your fur baby feels part of our family. Dog Boarding

Dogs must be friendly with people and other dogs and well-behaved to be accepted for boarding at Toby’s Pet Services. When your pup is staying with us, he or she will never be outside of human supervision. In addition, dogs have plenty of time outdoors to play and take potty breaks. Indoors, they can enjoy private, quiet spaces to eat, nap, and cuddle with their favorite toys. We’ll have you bring along all the food, toys, and other comfort items your dog might need for his or her stay.

For Exotic Pets

If you have a bird, bearded dragon, rabbit, tortoise, or other exotic pet, we can provide a safe, clean, and cozy space for these pets as well. We offer affordable rates for small pet boarding, and we can even provide pickup and delivery. Just like with our canine guests, you can expect your pet to be showered with lots of love and attention while they’re here.

Advance notice of your exotic pet boarding is always required, and pricing is based on the type of enclosure required and the level of attention for the care of your pet.

Enjoy Peace of Mind While You’re on the Go

Headed out of town but can’t take your pup with you? Though it would be wonderful to take our dogs with us, it’s not always feasible. Toby’s Pet Services offers safe, fun, and trustworthy overnight dog boarding services. With us, your dog will enjoy a full day of play in our spacious play yards. We’ll make sure your dog is having the time of their life throughout their stay!

Toby’s Woof Camp is designed to provide a loving and feel-at-home program where your fur baby feels he/she is part of our family. Woof camp offers socialization, playtime, lunch break, napping, and enough fun activities to keep them busy while you are away for an extended period of time.

All dogs must be up to date on their vaccines. Due to your fur baby being around Toby, we require a 2-hour interview to take place before your booking. This is necessary to determine participation in our open-concept daycare, woof camp, and overnight stay.
